A Paengaroa man received serious injuries after being rammed against a tree several times by a protective mother.
The Trustpower TECT Rescue Helicopter was called to a farm in Paengaroa around 8pm after receiving reports of a 52-year-old man being attacked by a cow.
The Trustpower TECT Rescue Helicopter was called to Paengaroa overnight.
'The man was helping out a calf and the calf's mother attacked, ramming him against a tree several times,” says pilot Todd Dunham.
'The area on the farm was very steep and covered in small pine trees, which made it very challenging for the Fire Service to carry the injured man to the helicopter.”
The man received serious internal injuries and was treated at the scene by St John Paramedics before being flown to Tauranga Hospital for further treatment.
