Omanu reclaimed the national masters surf lifesaving title in style on Mount Maunganui's main beach yesterday, finishing 66 points clear of rivals Mairangi Bay.
The Omanu contingent dominated across the age groups, with national coach Scott Bartlett winning the surf race and run-swim-run in the 30-39 division and former national mountain biking champion Jon Hume winning the 40-49.
South Brighton's Malcolm MacDonald took out the 30-39 sprint double, winning both the sprint and the flags, while Waikanae's Debbie Hutchings did the same in the women's 30-39 division.
Omanu also boasted the oldest competitor, with 80-year-old Sid Salek completing a big day, when he took part in the surf race, run-swim-run, the beach sprint and the beach flags.
Papamoa was third and the Mount placed sixth.
