The health warning imposed for the water in Pilot Bay, Kulim Park and at Maxwells Road is lifted – but the water in most other areas remains off limits.
Tauranga harbour became contaminated from sewage overflows last weekend caused by the severe storm that struck.
The health warning for the water at Kulim Park is lifted.
Since, water tests were carried out routinely, and now they have returned negative for contaminants in Pilot Bay, Kulim Park and at Maxwells Road.
The warnings remain in place, however, for:
Turret Road
Kopurererua-Waihi Road
Carmichael Road
Beach Road
Burrows Street
Waikareao Estuary
These warnings will remain in place until next week at the earliest, with the next samples being taken on Monday.
Tauranga City Council is reporting results from these tests are expected the following day.
