A Cape Runaway 12-year-old boy is in a stable condition after suffering a serious asthma attack yesterday.

The Tauranga based Trustpower TECT Rescue helicopter flew to the Te Kaha medical centre to assist with the boy whose condition deteriorated while being transported by St Johns ambulance.

The Trustpower TECT crew stabilised the youngster before flying him to Whakatane Hospital.
