Teams of 10 will be attempting a 1000km feat next Friday (August 28), in a bid to raise $50,000 for the Cancer Society.

ANZ Bank on Cameron Road are hoping to raise funds to go towards vital scientific research, providing support services, health promotion and education programmes to reduce cancer risk and promote awareness campaigns for people affected.

ANZ relationship associate Taj Aujla says teams will either be walking or running to achieve the 1000km goal.

'Our primary reason for this event is to help raise funds for the Cancer Society,” says Taj.

'This is a cause ANZ Bank has been backing since its origin and it's a cause close to the hearts of so many New Zealanders.

'We will kick off 10am, and there will also be a fundraiser BBQ and hot drinks to keep the winter chills at bay.”

Support can be given via donations or, alternatively, if you would like to add a bit more excitement to your donation, you can sponsor an ANZ team with a set amount per kilometer that the team completes.
