An additional five minutes is expected to be added to people's trip when travelling between Tauranga and Te Puke today and tomorrow.

Contractors are carrying out tree removal works on State Highway 2, near Papamoa.

Contractors will be felling trees on SH2, near Papamoa, today and tomorrow.

The felling works are expected to take place between 9am and 4pm, both today and tomorrow.

There will be a 30km/h speed restriction in place, along with stop/go traffic management during the felling activity.

Drivers are being asked to drive with care and allow for a little extra time in their journey.
