He was arrested and charged with making an intimate visual recording following a police investigation into the matter.

At the time of the investigation, Detective Chris Smith said a complaint was received that the man was seen filming a young girl as she showered in the pool complex at the park.

'At the time of the incident the girl remained calm and kept her wits about her,” says Chris.

'She called out to a family member, causing him to run off and her family and management of the park did exactly the right thing by notifying police.

'Naturally, the management of the park were shocked by what happened but the prompt reporting of the incident enabled police to resolve it in a timely manner.”

The accused's bail conditions include not to make or be in contact with any child aged under 16 unless supervised by an adult, not to possess any electronic items capable of storing data and that he must reside at a Paeroa property.

He will reappear in the Morrinsville District Court later this month.
