Charlotte and Oliver continue to reign supreme when it comes to Kiwi parents choosing names for newborns, among a list dominated by traditional names.
According to details released by the Department of Internal Affairs both Charlotte and Oliver take top spot for the second year running in the top 100 names of 2014.

Charlotte is followed by Olivia and Isla, while Jack and James claim second and third spot in the boy's category respectively.
Charlotte, Sophie and Olivia had been popular in recent years, with Olivia last claiming top spot in 2012. Oliver claims the top boys' spot again, after running second to Jack in 2012, says Registrar-General of births, deaths and marriages Jeff Montgomery.
The top three boy's names remain unchanged from 2013.
The top 100 names make up a small proportion of the more than 12,000 unique first names registered for children born this year.
'The number of different first names people choose for their child is amazing,” says Jeff.
While parents have the freedom to be creative with the name of their baby, every name must follow a few simple rules.
It should not cause offence to a reasonable person, be unreasonably long, and without adequate justification resemble an official title or rank.
