A woman involved in a fatal crash in Paengaroa on December 28 remains in a critical condition in Waikato Hospital.
The 28-year-old was critically injured when a car and a tanker collided on State Highway 2, at the intersection of Wilson Road.
Two women injured in the double fatal crash on December 28 remain in hospital. One is in a critical condition and the other is stable.
A 30-year-old man, from Rotorua, died at the scene and a 31-year-old man, also from Rotorua, died in Waikato Hospital hours after the crash.
A 42-year-old Rotorua woman remains in a stable condition in Tauranga Hospital.
Police investigating the crash say the VW Golf, carrying three men and two woman, turned right out of Wilson Road to travel south before colliding with a truck and trailer heading north.
Four of the five passengers were trapped in the car and had to be extracted by firefighters and two are still in hospital.
The truck driver was not seriously injured and is receiving help from Victim Support.
