A petrol station in Bethlehem was forced to close for a short time after a small petrol spill overnight.
Tauranga Fire Brigade was called to the station on State Highway 2 after about five litres of petrol spilled from a tank about 5.30pm.

Tauranga Fire Brigade senior station officer Mark Keller says the station closed down while waiting for the fire brigade to arrive.
The spill was washed away and the station was reopened.
Later on in the night, Tauranga Fire Brigade was called to Te Puna – this time to a small scrub fire on Te Puna Quarry Road.
Mark says they received the call about 8pm.
'It was about 10 square metres. We just dumped a tank of water on it and made sure it didn't flare up. Nothing major.”
The remaining fire brigades in the Western Bay of Plenty reported an uneventful night.
