Update: 1.30PM: Police have launched a homicide investigation in Ohauiti after a man's body was found on the driveway of a property this morning.

Police and fire emergency services are at the scene.

Police were called to the Mansfield St property just after 9am. They are treating the death as suspicious.

The area is cordoned off and a scene examination is underway.

No further details are available at this time. A further update will be issued later this afternoon.

A body has been found at a Hairini home following an incident in the area overnight.

Police have cordoned off the entire Mansfield St while they investigate.

A policeman at the scene says St John Ambulance has advised a body has been found at the property. It is not yet known if the person is a man or a woman, or how the person died.

A reporter at the scene says the street is blocked off with police tape.

He says there is about five police cars at the scene and a fire truck has just arrived.

'There are small cones marked on the road and residents have come out of their homes to see what's happening.”

A SunLive source says there has been a suspected stabbing in the area overnight. But this has not been confirmed.

A nearby resident told SunLive she was frightened by a knock on the door in the early hours of this morning, but she chose not to answer it.

When she got up this morning, she says there was blood on her car which was parked outside her property on Ohauiti Rd.

'There's always a party around this area…every Friday and Saturday night. [There's] always drunk people and random people coming to our house.

'We are very careful who we open the door to in the middle of the night.”

It is uncertain if the two are linked.
