Tauranga’s Mr Energy has been named the personal trainer of the year as part of the New Zealand Fitness Awards.
Physical Impact owner Strini Naidoo was given the prestigious award at the national ceremony in the weekend.
Strini Naidoo says he is always full of beans.
Strini has trained many different types of athletes including fighters, bodybuilders, basketball players, runners, cyclists and triathletes.
As well as athletes his clients include weekend warriors, looking for workouts that stimulate and invigorate, and provide a break from the daily grind. “Using great analogies and visualisations in the live judging session, Strini’s engaging style makes you simply want to have him as your trainer! He oozes infectious enthusiasm, and as one judge put it “no question about it – Strini has the X factor”,” say the awards’ judges.
Strini says he was given the award last Saturday after a live four hour assessment.
“They really put you through the ringer.” Before the award presentation Strini says he didn’t feel nervous, he was just himself.
“I am always full of beans. Now I am just trying to settle and deal with it. It is a prestigious award to be given.”
