Nervous wait for cruise comp entrants

A lucky SunLive reader will relax on the Pacific on a luxury cruise ship in January thanks to Travelcom. A competition to win the three-night food and wine themed cruise was run on Sunlive in September. The winner is due to be announced on SunLive on Friday.

A cruise aboard this ship was up for grabs in a Travelcom and SunLive competition held in September.

To enter the competition people had to answer a question by clicking on an icon on the Travelcom website.

Travelcom director Don Menzies says most people got the question right.

There was an overwhelming response to the competition and Don says the winner will have a relaxing time out in the ocean.

'Most people when they go cruising they like to stay onboard and enjoy the amenities.

'It's just like a floating resort.”

The cruise on the P & O liner, Pacific Pearl, departs Auckland on January 27, 2001.

Don says the prize includes a free outside cabin for two which can cost up to $2500.

Meals and port taxes are included, with options including a-la-carte main restaurants, buffet or daytime grills.

As well as enjoying the onboard dining options, the winner can spoil themselves with a beauty treatment or massage in the Lotus Spa (charges apply), relax by the pool, curl up with a good book, take part in a wine appreciation course, or even work out in the fitness centre.

Other activities available on Pacific Pearl include a sport court and whirlpool spas and in the evenings there is live comedy, theatre, nightclubs and cinema.

Staterooms include ensuite with complimentary toiletries, air-conditioning and a TV for in-cabin entertainment.
Don says cruising is a wonderful stress-free travel option.

'There are no hassles booking accommodation or restaurants – everything is taken care of.”

Sun Media general manager Ross Brown says it has been fantastic to be involved with the cruise contest.

'It has been one of the most popular competitions run on SunLive.

'SunLive members have the opportunity to enter an array of competitions while they are reading the most up-to-date news from across the Bay of Plenty.”
