Bern passed away on Saturday 26th July 2014. He was in his 90th year. He is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 66 years, Mercedes. He is also survived by his children, Leonie, Cheryle and Gary, his grandchildren, Bridget, Jeremy, Vanessa, Stephen and Philippa, his great grandchildren Portia and Ruby and by his sister Myra. In accordance with Bern's wishes a private family service has been held. In lieu of flowers the family would like donations in his name to Waipuna Hospice, PO Box 1156, Tauranga.
