Mountain biking tracks destroyed by the harvesting of pine trees owed by Raynonier Matariki Forests will be rebuilt thanks to a $7800 funding boost from the Whangamata Community Board.
'Whangamata based EPL Construction Company and Thames-Coromandel District Council has formed a partnership with the club to get the tracks finished as soon as possible," says Whangamata area manager Garry Towler.

'The mountain bike tracks in Whangamata are nationally recognised. The Whangamata Community Board support the clubs determination to get the tracks re-opened and is seen as a priority for the Community Board.”
Work is expected to begin shortly to ensure the tracks are back in place before the re-planting of the forest.
