A Toyota Corolla was written off after it crashed with a truck on State Highway 29, near Gargan Road, overnight.
Tauranga Fire Brigade station officer Phil Price says no one was injured in the crash, which saw the car go up in flames about 6pm.

'The diesel tank in the truck ruptured and there was diesel everywhere. The car caught fire, but luckily no one was hurt.
'The car was a mess.”
Firefighters from Greerton joined with colleagues at the scene in helping to extinguish the car fire.
Once the fire was out, Phil says they helped with cleaning up the scene.
'The road was closed for some time, at least a couple of hours.”
Police investigating the crash say initial indications are that the blue Corolla crossed the centre line, colliding with the driver's side of the truck.
