All Whites coach comes to Bay

All Whites coach Ricki Herbert is scheduled to make an appearance in Tauranga on August 6.
Ricki was also a player in the team that took New Zealand to the World Cup for the first time in 1982.

Papamoa Football Club organised his Tauranga appearance as a fundraising event and
club president Barbara Caie says Ricki will talk about his early days at the 1982 Football World Cup, his time with the Wellington Pheonix and his latest achievements at the 2010 World Cup.
"Unless another big corporate can get him here, this is one of the only chances people in the Bay area will get to see him," says Barbara.
She says there is a possibility All Whites players Tony Lochhead and Mark Paston will accompany Ricki.
Money raised from the event will help Papamoa Football Club upgrade its lighting, which she estimates will cost about $130,000.
The club approached Ricki about the appearance before he left for the World Cup.
He only confirmed after returning from South Africa and is waiving the $5000 appearance fee he now charges.

Ricki will speak at Baypark's Event Centre on Friday, August 6. Corporate tables of 10 can be purchased for $1000. Adult tickets are $25 and children under-16 are $15. Ricki will speak to the corporate tables, who receive a meal as part of their ticket, between 6pm and 7pm and then the rest of the public from 7pm.
Tickets can be purchased from all Westpac branches or by emailing [email protected]
