Multiculturalism is really just social disintegration

When I was a young Kiwi, I lived in a Christian country. Churches were full on Sundays although many New Zealanders were only 'passive” Christians, who attended church only to be married or buried or to be baptised.

There were other groups, such as Jewish people, but most, including Maori people, called themselves Christian.

But things suddenly changed in the 1960s. Atheists, became aggressively active, and, using so-called 'science”, worked to persuade people, especially the vulnerable young, that there was no God. Nor, of course, no values for human behaviour except to do whatever you wished. Concern for others no longer existed. The results we now endure.
In our former Christian society, the old Gods of the Greeks, the Romans, and Maori, were put in their respected place in history.

But the promotion of the multiculture idea enabled opponents of Christianity to swamp it with all manner of belief systems – Pagan, Muslim, pure pragmatism, and anything that would destroy our settled value system.

Multiculturalism is simply another name for social disintegration.

So you are saying that other cultures degrade our society and that science is actually unscientific? What rock did you crawl out from under?

Yes but

I used to live in Tauranga (7 years) and enjoyed it, but I found the mono cultural nature of the place disappointing and a tad boring. I now live in Kuala Lumpur, a true Multicultural society. The city is made up mostly of Malays, Chinese and Indians..I have travelled a fair bit and have never been anywhere where there are such strong family values and where people are caring, honest, hardworking, non aggressive and friendly. It puts " Kiwi friendliness" in it's place. Your argument about multiculturalism just does not seem right to me. Also It is a Muslim country and poor in many places, but ultimately I feel extremely safe here. People here cherish their children and I think NZ has a lot to learn.

Narrow minded rubbish!

So you reckon there can't be human values without a "god" It's that twerpish attitude that is at the root of many social problems - caused by bigots, each with his or her own style of a god depending on the religion. Pause for a minute and think about the Magdaline laundries and more recently the 800 children found buried in a septic tank behind a nunnery. What a terrible letter - you should be ashamed.

Have to agree,

with papamoaner and johnnyredneck. One of the saddest letters written. Look around the world, political and religeous conflict, all with the same base philosophy,: our way is the only way. Fact is we have a looooong way to go. Robin Bell.
