Exotic birds on show

Tauranga residents are enjoying bird songs from more than 450 birds at Greerton Hall today.
The Tauranga Bird Show, organised by Tauranga Bird Club, features a huge variety of birds, including canaries, budgies, blackbirds, thrushes, quails, finches, lovebirds, cockatiels and parrots from Tauranga and around the North Island.

The Tauranga Bird Club is hosting a bird show Sunday at Greerton Hall.

'We are hoping to attract young people to the show and the club,” says Tauranga Bird Club president Dallas Pitt.
'Birds teach consistency and young people can learn to appreciate how living things depend on them everyday.”
The show runs until 1.30pm Sunday. Admission costs $3 for adults and $2 for children.
