For those wanting to observe how three gigantic vessels manoeuvre their way out of a port – today is the day in Tauranga.

Three cruise ships currently in port are scheduled to depart during a 45-minute window, beginning at 5.30pm this evening.

The Seabourn Odyssey, which arrived from Queen Charlotte Sound earlier today, is scheduled to be first out, at 5.30pm, followed at 5.45pm by the Diamond Princess, and at 6pm by the Dawn Princess.

The Diamond Princess arrived from Wellington and is bound for Auckland. The Dawn Princess is travelling down the coast, from Auckland to Napier.

Both Princess ships have been regular callers this season. It's the Diamond Princesses fifth – and last – visit. The Dawn Princess has another five visits to go.

The Seabourn Odyssey is expected back at the Port of Tauranga on Wednesday. She was last in Tauranga mid-January; and this is her last scheduled port call this season.
