Fire crews are blocking off a section of Brookfield Terrace as they tend to a fire in a garage at a home on the street.

A reporter at the scene says three fire appliances are at the scene and have hoses rolled out over the road to tend to the fire.

'People have just been driving over top of them, that's why they've probably closed a section of the road.

'The property is down a long driveway, so fire crews are taking ladders to it.”

A fire communications shift manager says the fire began on a workbench in a garage and has since been contained. 'There is a bit of smoke inside the house but nothing major.”
