Musician Mark Mazengarb joins Beyondsemble for an acoustic concert featuring music from around the world at 16th Avenue Theatre on Saturday, April 10 from 7.30pm.
Mark grew up in Tauranga and believes the unique mixture of music they plan to perform will prove popular in his home town.
'This concert is our first in Tauranga and hopefully a building block to more and bigger things to come,” says Mark.
He describes their sound as full of texture and rich in subtlety. All members play a range of different instruments and styles. They weave Celtic, Eastern European and Gypsy with Latin and tango rhythms, seasoned with jazz, swing and rock steady to create a captivating toe-tapping set.
The band members are: Mark on guitars and bouzouki; Craig Denham on accordion, keyboards, vocals and whistles; Jess Hindin on violin and keys; and Chris Koole on percussion and vocals.
Tickets cost $25 and are available from Baycourt Ticketdirect.
