Cricketing capers are the theme for Tauranga Repertory's new show, Outside Edge, which runs at 16th Avenue Theatre from March 16-31.
Outside Edge, written by Richard Harris, begins when a cricket match is about to take place at a local County Cricket Ground between two amateur teams.
The host captain, Roger, has trouble assembling his team for this vital match, but his troubles do not stop there. Bob is having problems with his wife and ex wife. Alex's girlfriend gets locked in the loo and has hysterics. Denis flirts flagrantly, and upsets his wife. Maggie protects her little Kevin, and Roger's wife, the club's champion sandwich maker, rebels. Chaos is a foot, but the match must go on.
This sporting comedy is directed by Denis Smith.
