Tauranga City Airshow, held Waitangi weekend, is fast approaching with organisers anticipating it will be a hugely successful, fun, family weekend out.
There is a star line up of aircraft including a Mark IX Spitfire, P51D Mustang, A37 Dragonfly and L39 Albatros, as well as 137 trade sites organised by The Rotary Club of Tauranga Te Papa.
The show is on two days, with Sunday, February 7 as the full airshow day when pilots will fly choreographed displays and hold mock battlefield demonstrations. Saturday, February 6 is the practice day with pilots flying all of the display aircraft in an unrehearsed fashion. The freedom allowed for pilots on this day is likely to make a great spectacle. There will also be battlefield re-enactments on Saturday. This day is also a good opportunity for people to wander around the event and get a close up look at military equipment, aircraft and vehicles on the ground.
SunLive has fantastic Tauranga City Air Show prizes to give away to four lucky individuals and two families.
The top prizes are two Super Gold Individual Passes, valid for Saturday and Sunday February 6 and 7. These include ground entry with entry to the Gold enclosure on Sunday, plus helicopter rides in and out on Sunday.
