Tauranga's only on-the-water boat show is underway today, bringing a weekend of watercraft wonder for the whole family.
The Tauranga Boat Expo and On The Water Festival, driven by the Tauranga Marine Industry Association, returns to downtown Tauranga for November 8-10.
Event manager Dahna Jeffares-Bozinovitch says the response from Bay of Plenty businesses has been fantastic and is ensuring a great event for this year.
'This vibrant event is made possible with the support of local industries and community involvement.”
In addition to more than 17 local industry exhibitions, the family-friendly event has attracted businesses from throughout the North Island, including tasty food stalls. There is also free jet ski rides and life jacket checks, and plenty of entertainment for young and old.
To avoid potential parking hassles in town, a water taxi departs hourly from Salisbury Wharf; and a $40 family pass includes expo entry. Pick-up is also available from Bridge Marina, which offers free parking for visitors.
