All Blacks Tauranga schedule

All Blacks fans are being given a rare opportunity to interact with the latest crop of exciting All Black talent this Friday when the team visits.

All Blacks and Blues rookies Steven Luatua and Frank Halai will be joined by Chiefs co-captain Liam Messam, Israel Dagg and 105 test prop Tony Woodcock in Tauranga as part of the 'All Blacks to the Nation” campaign.

Steven Luatua makes a break against Australia in this year's Bledisloe Cup in Wellington.

The five will be hosted by former international referee Bryce Lawrence.

Frank, a former sevens star, is yet to pull on the black jersey but along with Steven is touted as a star of the future, while Liam is in commanding form for the national side after yet another consistent Super Rugby season with the champion Chiefs.

This Friday the players will spend the morning at Pillans Point School, before heading to Otumoetai College for a coaching session with local Western Bay Year 9 and 10 students.

After lunch, from 1.15 to 2.30pm, they are teaming up alongside the cast of Tauranga Arts Festival act ‘The Brave' at the Tauranga Art Gallery for some live entertainment and a chance to sign autographs.

Mayor Stuart Crosby says he is looking forward to seeing the outcome of combining performance theatre and the nation's favourite sport.

'It's a great opportunity for the people of Tauranga to show their support for the All Blacks and seeing them join up with ‘The Brave' is an added benefit, I can't wait to see with what they have in store for us,” says Stuart.

Before departing the five players will be checking customers in and helping with their luggage at Tauranga Airport between 2.30 and 3.30pm.

The 'All Blacks to the Nation” provincial visits see the 36-strong Air New Zealand European Tour squad spread themselves throughout Tauranga, Pukekohe, Matamata, Palmerston North, Timaru, Nelson and Queenstown for the one day visit.

The visits are a way for the side to say thanks for all the support generated throughout this year's winning Steinlager Series and Investec Rugby Championship – before flying out for the European Tour.

The All Blacks leave in two groups next week – the initial wave heading to Tokyo for the Test match against Japan, and the second wave later in the week to Europe for the three match tour.
