Heavy metal band Blacklistt is taking the music world by storm after releasing their debut album.

Blacklist was formed in 2010 by the four original members of Blindspott, Damien Alexander, Marcus Powell, Gareth Fleming and Karl Vilisini, and is accompanied by new drummer Tristan Reilly.

Blacklistt are returning to Tauranga on October 26.

In late 2011, following months of silence, the band was announced as a headliner for the 2012 Homegrown festival, alongside New Zealand artists Shihad, P-Money and The Feelers.

Now the band is back with its self-titled Blacklistt album, released on September 12 and debuting at number one on the top 40 album charts in the first week.

The boys are now touring the country, promoting the albums and performing songs 'written from the heart”. They will be in Tauranga to perform at Brewers Bar on October 26.

The signature sounds of ‘Nil By Mouth' and ‘Phlex' carry through to such songs as ‘Worth Fighting For', and the band's new single ‘Home', while their recent single ‘Burn' has more of an aggression to it – proving the boys have not strayed far from their heavy metal roots.

Lead singer Damian Alexander says the band is amped for the tour.

'We have put a lot of time into crafting our songs, it's going to be [wicked].

'It's time for us to deliver and give back to all our fans for their unwavering support over the last few years.”
