Good morning SunLive readers,
What a crazy night, and the weather is expected to continue this morning.
Emirates Team New Zealand is on match point in the 2013 America's Cup race.
MetService is forecasting thundery morning rain, then fine spells and northerly winds.
Today's high is 19 degrees with an overnight low of 11degrees.
A severe weather watch is in places for the Bay of Plenty along with Northland, Auckland, Coromandel Peninsula, Waikato, Waitomo, Taumarunui, Taihape and Rotorua.
It's a good thing we are most likely going to be snuggled up on the couch watching the America's Cup.
Keen yachtsmen and women and America's Cup supporters are expected to file into the Tauranga Yacht and Power Boat Club this morning to watch Emirates Team New Zealand race against the Oracle boat.
The team is still on match point after yesterday's race running out of time and a second seeing Oracle cross the finish line first.
Members of the yacht club will also be hosting an Opening Day function today starting from 9.30am.
