What's on Today? Saturday

Saturday is a busy day for many people as parents drive children to sports games and families hit the town lookng for a bargain.

People are being reminded to pay attention and look out for road works happening around the city as they enjoy their weekend.

SunLive has a list of road work projects happening in and around the city today below:

Work is continuing between 18th and 19th Avenue due to the hospital development.

Tauranga City Council says work is on-going to relocate the existing bus stop from outside No.62 Grey Street to No.100.

In Pilot Bay, stormwater improvement work and installation of new pedestrian crossings continues along The Mall.

Council says there will be varying amounts of disruption and diversions for the next couple of months.

There is also a safety improvement project on SH2 between Bethlehem and Waihi Road. Lane closures and temporary road layouts may be in place.

Work is also continuing on the Tauranga Eastern Link, with all SH2 traffic now using the new section of road at Te Maunga while construction of the new southbound lanes takes place.

'Please watch for new lane layouts and allow extra time for your journey,” a council spokesperson says.
'Maintenance repairs are being carried out in this area in the evenings after 7pm. There will not be delays to motorists but please take care when driving through this area.”
