Boatie John Harrison will be reunited with his boat Six Guns today after it was found in Paeroa this week.

The 20 foot boat has been missing since early May when it was stolen from John's property in Waihi Road.

Today John is anxiously awaiting the return of his boat, currently being towed back home by Rowe Motors. He says insurance workers found it in Paeroa with significant damage to various sections.

'I haven't seen it yet.

'They have got to check the wheel because they smashed the mud guard off and wrecked the wheel, so the stub axle could be stuffed too. It's got to be all checked out before I get it.”

John says the alleged boat thief was arrested after photos were taken in Thames. The accused was released on bail to his parents' home in Hamilton, he says.

'The insurance guys went to the parents, that must be how they traced it down.

'He must have told his old man everything, and that's it. He's going to court on the 16^th, I think it is.”

A new sounder installed in Six Guns by John shortly before it was stolen is believed to still be in the boat.
