What's on Today? Plane auction

Model plane enthusiasts are getting ready for take-off as they put their model planes up for auction at Classic Flyers today.

Members of Tauranga Model Aircraft Club are taking flight with their hobby of flying model planes by attracting newcomers to an annual auction of their planes.

Model plane enthusiasts can spend up to $20,000 on planes, but the prices are much lower at today's auction.

Registration is open at 8.30 today with the auction at 10am.
