Men arrested after noisy ruckus

Three men were arrested by police on Saturday night after they allegedly protested the confiscation of their stereo which was being seized by noise control.

Council noise control officers were accompanied by police when they went to the house on Townhead Crescent in Cambridge Heights to confiscate the stereo at about 11.20pm.
The occupants of the house were served an abatement notice earlier in the night after complaints were received about the noise coming from the property.
The abatement notice meant no noise could come from the house for another 72 hours.
But when noise continued, council officers swooped on the property to confiscate the source of the noise.
Three men, aged 20, 24 and 43, were arrested from the house after police say they tried to stop the stereo being confiscated.
The 43 year old man arrested from the property was charged with obstructing police, resisting police and assaulting a police officer.
The 20 year old labourer from Maungatapu was charged with obstructing police, disorderly behaviour and resisting arrest.
Obstructing police was the only charged handed down to the 24 year old arrested from the property. All three men will appear in Tauranga District Court on October 1.
