Company solves taxi dilemma

A Tauranga based company is solving a dilemma that now faces taxi companies across New Zealand – how and what security cameras to install in their vehicles.
The government has announced that it wants to make security cameras compulsory in all taxis in of New Zealand's large cities and towns.

Tauranga company Show Off uses wireless technology to display 15 to 30 second-long advertisements and run two to three security cameras which film the driver and passengers at all times.
The system is already being used by almost 70 taxi drivers in Tauranga and Nelson, and security camera footage of one vicious attack has recently been handed to Tauranga police for use as evidence in an upcoming court case.
Show Off's general manager, Vanessa Malloy, says their product involves installing discrete security cameras positioned around the taxi in conjunction with seven inch LCD screens in the back of the vehicle so local businesses can screen short advertisements to passengers.
No sound will accompany the advertisements, so the taxi driver will not be distracted while on the road.
'The taxi drivers now have a way of affording the extra 24 hour security they need, while local businesses have a unique opportunity to tap into a previously un-touched advertising market.”

More interference from the people who have created the problem in the first place. ie - Lets get another WOLF in to see why so many SHEEP are going missing. How about the government get the hell out and let private businesses solve their own problems - They will you know.

The government should intefer

ok so this is only one side of the story .....we should also consider why sheilds are not seen as a good idea by the government and why they should interfer. the following reasons are why sheilds are a bad idea - sheilds inhabit free and easy communication between the passengers and the drivers -it will test the passengers limtis by smacking them and the entire problem is not here because of the government they are just trying to fix the problem .....it is here because of the people who think it is ok to beat people up ......thankx to them taxi drivers are not safe while doing there job and removing government doesnt help the problem it just means that people are going to think its ok to nearly stab soemone... 1 more problem 1 less solution 1 less person to solve it which results in deaths and lee freedom the government ais not an expert in taxi driving but they have alot of authority which may be useful and we are the ones who voted for them so maybe its time we actually listened to them.... maybe we should encourage the government to put in screens which will also cost how do u suppose they pay for it... and no im not mistaken we do have to do something .... im sure if you where in this situation you would feel differently....and im just a citizen who really wants to help and yes everyone who doesnt do anything about it is a problem ...... and for your information my family has done alot to help solve this problem...and no im not a taxi driver .....if i could fix it i would
