Adjournment in pizza robbery

Two young Tauranga men accused of beating and robbing a Domino's pizza delivery driver and taking off with five pizzas have had their case adjourned.

A 24-year-old and a 16-year-old were due to appear in Tauranga Youth Court yesterday charged with aggravated robbery but had their case put off for another week.

The pair, who both have automatic name suppression, were arrested following the attack on a 23-year-old pizza delivery man in Maungatapu on May 9.

According to police, the Domino's employee was delivering pizzas to the address around 11pm when he was confronted by the two as he exited his car.

The man was punched in the head before the pair took the pizzas and drove off in a white Nissan Maxima.

The victim received minor injuries but did not need medical treatment.

They are due to reappear on May 20.
