New swan footage leaked

Additional footage has been leaked showing more swans being killed in the Tauranga Harbour.

The footage shows a jet boat chasing and hitting at least 12 swans in the mouth of Aongatete River south of Katikati before turning around to run over the injured swans again.

Further footage has been released by the camera man involved in the Boxing Day swan killings on Tauranga Harbour.

It is believed to have been released by the same man who filmed and leaked a clip in February of black swans being run down by a jet boat in the harbour on Boxing Day.

At least seven swans were killed in the Boxing Day video, which is not believed to be an isolated incident.

Tauranga SPCA inspector Jason Blair says they are aware of the new footage, of a similar nature to the clip aired on Campbell Live on February 5, and are conducting a thorough investigation.

'We certainly believe it wasn't just a joy ride to do such an act.”

Jason says the man who released the footage is known to the SPCA and the investigation is still a priority by local and national SPCA organisations.

was being solved by proper means, this cold carnage would not be happening, and I noticed with amusement that the "camera man" was being treated with contempt in his community, well hell "fella", wearing a kaftan and roman sandals down the main street will do that, let me also point out that I, if you have not realised it,do not like Black Swans, but running them down in a jet boat, and not putting injured birds out of their misery is a little strong, so he deserves to be castigated, which I am sure most will do.
