St Andrews Church in Mount Maunganui is celebrating its official opening this morning.
Church members sing at Christmas in the Park at St Andrew's Church in Mount Maunganui.
Mayor Stuart Crosby and Tauranga MP Simon Bridges are expected to attend the opening.
The church building, established on Dee Street Mount Maunganui in June 1969, has been serving the community for more than 40 years.
About 10 years ago the church community felt the building needed renovations to be able to continue to serve the community for a further 40 years.
Architect Ian Thorn has since designed a newly renovated facility for the community to use today.
