Two people are in custody after a vehicle allegedly failed to stop for police in the Bay of Plenty.
Police said officers spotted the vehicle speeding on Reid Rd in Ruatoki at 11.46am and tracked it from a distance before signalling the driver to pull over.
“The driver kept driving and police successfully set spikes to safely slow down the vehicle.”
Police said the driver and other occupant fled when the vehicle came to a stop, but were found a short time later.
“The people were taken into custody without incident.
“The vehicle has been impounded for failing to stop.”
