A large-scale interactive light experience that attracted 20,000 visitors in Auckland is heading to Tauranga for the July school holidays.
Dreamer will run at Mercury Baypark Arena from July 10 to 19, promising a fully immersive indoor experience designed for families and visitors of all ages.
The 10-day event will see the arena transformed into a colourful world of light, sound and interactive installations, offering a weatherproof option during the winter break.
Visitors will be able to explore a series of large-scale displays and activities, including light drawing, interactive games, and digital installations that respond to movement.
Event producer Jamie Newman said in a media release that the response to Dreamer’s debut season in Auckland exceeded expectations.
“Seeing more than 20,000 people step into Dreamer in Auckland was incredible.
“We always hoped Dreamer would travel beyond Auckland, and we’re excited to be bringing the experience to Tauranga these school holidays.”
Newman said the concept was designed to encourage creativity, exploration and shared experiences.
“Winter can make it difficult to plan family outings, so we’ve created something that’s completely weatherproof while still delivering that sense of magic and discovery.”
The Baypark event will run daily during the school holidays, with extended hours on opening day and weekends.
Dreamer tickets are on sale through Ticketek, with prices starting from $16 for children and $24 for adults. Family passes are also available.
