The killer of New Zealand teenager Emily Longley has been beaten up in an English jail, according to British media reports.
Elliot Turner, 20, was sentenced to life in prison with a minimum non-parole period of 16 years after being found guilty of strangling his former girlfriend in an alleged jealous rage last year.
Emily Longley was found dead in 2011.
The 20-year-old was reportedly beaten at HMP Swaleside correctional facility in Kent where he had his cell torched after posting pictures of Emily on his cell wall and bragging about receiving fan mail, reports the Daily Star.
An anonymous source at the prison is quoted as saying, 'he's put up a load of pictures of that blonde girl he killed, saying he loves her and would never hurt her… (Turner) has had it coming for some time.”
Emily was 17 at the time of her death at Turner's parent's home in Bournemouth, England in May 2011.
She was originally from Whakatane where her father Mark Longley is currently the managing editor for the Whakatane Beacon.
According to the Daily Star's source Turner still protests his innocence and had bragged about his expectation of a wealthy lifestyle upon his release.
Since the attack Turner has been moved to another wing of the Category B prison, amid fears he will be targeted again.
Turner is currently appealing his sentence.
