Rodney Police, who have been investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a 60-year-old female at Arkles Bay earlier this month, have determined her death as non-suspicious.
Police recovered the body of Katherine Bennett from the shoreline at Arkles Bay beach on the morning of Monday, January 7.
Significant resources were deployed to the investigation at the time as the death of Katherine Bennett continued to remain unexplained.
Detective Senior Sergeant Brett Batty says the reclassification is the result of extensive on-going enquiries by investigators and forensic experts, all of which has clarified the circumstances surrounding her death.
'Police spoke to a wide sector of the community in the course of the investigations. Valuable information was provided by the public which we wish to acknowledge with gratitude.
'Details of how death occurred will not be released as the matter will now be referred to the Coroner.”
