A series of popular classes at Te Puke Library are to be repeated, starting next month.
The digital skills classes that ran in July were aimed at anyone with a digital device who was unsure about using it. A new series of classes for those with basic skills have also been scheduled.
“The previous class were extremely popular, and we received positive feedback from the class attendees which prompted us into repeating these same classes,” library and service centre team leader Amanda-Jane McFadden said.
From those sessions, presenter Kimi Katene took note of what was being asked for and she has now developed a series of intermediate classes that will look at things like productivity, everyday digital tools, creativity, artificial intelligence (AI) and emerging tech.
The beginners’ classes will also be run again, looking at smartphone and tablet basics, useful apps, accessing services online, digital skills and new technology.
McFadden said Katene had set aside time after each session for those tricky one-off questions the attendees may have, and she will try to help where she can.
The three beginners’ sessions will each be run twice in October and November on Tuesday mornings, with the six intermediate classes run in the afternoons on the same days as the beginners’ classes.
The sessions run from October 14 to November 18 and can be booked online at eventbrite.co.nz or by popping into the Te Puke Library.
