With the arrival of spring, the Waihī Beach farmers’ market re-opens this Saturday, September 27, offering a variety of new and former vendors.
Held from 8.30am-12.30pm on Saturdays on the grounds of Waihī Beach School (Te Kura Tātahī o Waihī), stalls will offer fresh local produce, artisan foods and arts and crafts.
Market promotions manager Fin McDonald said there had been a lot of anticipation among the community, with many expressing how they missed the Waihī Beach market during winter.

“This season, we have several larger events planned and we hope to bring as many visitors and locals out to support the Waihī Beach and Western Bay of Plenty area,” McDonald said.
He encouraged everyone to come along to support local growers and makers.
“This season promises to be one of the most exciting yet, with a wide range of fresh local produce, artisan foods, handmade goods and an expanded line-up of new vendors.”
McDonald said the jam-packed programme had been designed to celebrate the community and showcase the creativity and quality of local growers and makers.
“We can’t wait to welcome everyone back to the market – it’s going to be bigger, fresher and more vibrant than ever.”
