Passed peacefully on 17 July 2025 at Tauranga Hospital, aged 80 years. Treasured husband to the late Margaret and much-loved father and father-in-law to Suzanne Hampson, Darrin and Lotta Liddell. Beloved Poppa to Jasper, Oliver, Jonathan, Felix, and Matilda.

A celebration of Barrie's life will be held at St Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Dee Street, Mount Maunganui, on Friday, 29 August at 4 pm. In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family requests that donations be made to Waipuna Hospice.
