The Aerocool Rescue Helicopter, which serves the Coastal Bay of Plenty region, carried out 43 life-saving missions throughout June.
These missions included 21 inter-hospital transfers, three medical events, 10 rural/farm incidents, three motor vehicle accidents and six miscellaneous missions.
The Aerocool Rescue Helicopter was frequently seen in locations such as Mōtītī Island, Waihau Bay, Ōpōtiki and Paengaroa, a spokesperson for the rescue chopper said.
The month started off with the Aerocool Rescue Helicopter being dispatched to Mōtītī Island for a male who was experiencing a medical event.
The patient was stabilised on scene for about 30 minutes before being airlifted to Tauranga Hospital for further care.
That evening, the rescue helicopter flew to Whakatāne Hospital for a male who was in serious condition. The patient was flown swiftly to Waikato Hospital for further treatment.
On Monday afternoon, June 2, the chopper was dispatched to Rotorua Hospital for a male who was suffering from a health condition. The patient was flown to Starship Hospital for further treatment.
In the early hours of Thursday morning, June 4, the helicopter was tasked to Tauranga Hospital for a male who was suffering from a medical condition. The patient was airlifted to Auckland City Hospital to receive further treatment.
Later that morning, the rescue helicopter crew were dispatched to Waihau Bay for a male who was in serious condition. He was transported to Tauranga Hospital for further treatment.
On Friday morning, June 6, the rescue helicopter was dispatched to Te Teko for a male who had sustained serious injuries following an accident between a pedestrian and a car. The patient was treated on scene and airlifted to Waikato Hospital to receive further urgent treatment.
In the early hours of Sunday morning, June 8, the chopper flew to Tauranga Hospital for a male who was in serious condition. The patient was flown to Waikato Hospital to receive further treatment.
On Wednesday evening, June 11, the helicopter was tasked to Waihī for a female who was in serious condition. The patient was airlifted to Waikato Hospital for further treatment.

On Friday afternoon, June 13, the helicopter was tasked to Te Aroha for a female who was in critical condition following a serious motor vehicle accident. The patient was treated on scene for 30 minutes before being airlifted to Waikato Hospital for further treatment.
On Saturday evening, June 14, the helicopter was dispatched to Paengaroa for a male who sustained serious injuries following a motor vehicle accident. The patient was airlifted to Waikato Hospital for further treatment.
On Sunday evening, June 15, the helicopter was tasked to Rerewhakaaitu for a female who was in serious condition. The patient was stabilised on scene for about 20 minutes before being flown swiftly to Waikato Hospital to receive further immediate treatment.
In the early hours of Monday morning, June 16, the helicopter was dispatched to Waikino for a male who was suffering from a serious medical event. The patient was stabilised on scene for approximately 40 minutes before being airlifted to Waikato Hospital for further treatment.
That afternoon, the rescue helicopter flew to the Ōpōtiki Airfield for a female who was experiencing a serious medical event. The patient was airlifted to Tauranga Hospital to receive further immediate care.
On Tuesday afternoon, June 17, the chopper was tasked to Whakatāne Hospital for a male who was experiencing a serious medical event. The patient was flown to Tauranga Hospital to receive further treatment.
On Saturday evening, June 21, the helicopter was tasked to Whitianga Airfield for a patient who was in critical condition. The patient was airlifted to Auckland City Hospital to receive urgent further care.
On Wednesday afternoon, June 25, the helicopter was tasked to Tauranga Hospital for a female who had sustained significant injuries following an accident between a pedestrian and a motor vehicle. The patient was airlifted to Waikato Hospital to receive further treatment.
The month ended with the helicopter being dispatched to Opoutere for a patient who was in serious condition. The patient was stabilised on scene before being airlifted to Waikato Hospital for further treatment.
