Body confirmed as missing woman

The body found near Murupara on Friday has been confirmed as that of missing Rotorua woman Michelle Hoffman-Tamm.

Michelle had been missing since November 7 since she left her Rotorua home on a bicycle.

Police located a body in an area of forest near State Highway 38 about 10km from Murupara at 2.30pm on Friday.

Police are also continuing to investigate a house in Holland Street.

A 44-year-old woman has appeared in court charged with assault and police say more charges are likely.

She was granted interim name supression and entered no plea on the charge in Rotorua District Court.
