CrossFit co-owner Kirsten Tulloch says the charity event is all about having fun and taking part in good-spirited competition while raising funds for a worthy local cause.

A crossfit style event will take place from 10am until 12pm for teams of three members.

There will be a variety of random activities which will include tyres and chains - the details of the actual activities are being kept a secret.
'For the team event, it can be made of male, female or be mixed, we hope to get 20 teams with 3 members in each team.”

For those into weight lifting, an individual bench press competition will be held at 1.30pm, with the award going to the winner who can bench press their weight as often as they can. Kirsten says the press bench activity consists of short reps with heavy weights, which will be challenging.
The winner will win this year's Tauranga's Toughest Business Challenge Award.

Kirsten says the shield that will be up for grabs again next year, as CrossFit Fortus Tauranga plans to make this charity event an annual one.

The prizes for the winners of the team crossfit and the individual bench press event will receive one month's free training membership at the gym, which is located at Birch Avenue in Judea.
Entry fee per team is $50 and $5 for those participating in the individual benchpress event.

Kirsten hopes to get 20 teams for the crossfit event and as many individuals to participate in the bench pressing event as the aim is to raise over $1,000 for Waipuna Hospice.
