One person is dead following crash between a ute and motorcycle on State Highway 2 south of Katikati.
The crash occured at the intersection of SH2 and Hot Springs Road just after 4pm.
Emergency services are at the scene of a crash on SH2.
A reporter on the scene says there is a body lying on the side of the road and emergency services are comforting another motorcyclist.
She says the serious crash unit from Tauranga has just arrived.
Traffic is moving slowly past the accident site and motorists are being advised to drive with care.
Police Serious Crash Unit is investigating.
