Vape story burglary: Police nab three

Police have arrested three youths ater a burglary at a vape store in Rotorua.

Officers were called to a store on Tarawera Road in Lynmore following reports of a burglary around 6.30am on Thursday, April 18.

Police tape surrounded the Sosha Redwoods store at the Redwood Centre and police staff were investigating the scene.

In a statement released this afternoon, police allege the four offenders arrived in two vehicles, broke the front window with a tool, and left the scene in one of the vehicles, abandoning one at the scene.

Police tracked the vehicle to a Rotorua street, where it was found empty.

Rotorua Tactical Crime Unit constable Zade Rimmer says after being identified through CCTV footage, three of the four youths were locaed walking nearby.

He says a fourth youth has been identified and officers are working to locate them.

Police urge anyuone who sees any illegal or suspicious activity to report it.

We witnessed a shop theft on Maunganui road , were following the thief and called 111, operator said to file an insurance claim and they would not be sending a car… won’t bother again.
