The award-winning musical CATS returns to Baycourt on June 15, with five of the cast who performed in the show in 2009.

Amy Lewin who plays the lead role of Grizabella this year, was a chorus member 15 years ago.

“It’s such an iconic show, so I jumped at the opportunity to be in it again. Playing Griz is a dream come true for me. Elaine Page who sung ‘Memory’ originally, is one of my idols. I cannot wait to perform the role on the Baycourt stage”, says Amy.

Four other leads, Abbie Buskirk, Carlie Crone, Chris Grange and Remma McArdle also return to perform in CATS in 2024.

Stage Right Charitable Trust Director, Toni Henderson said “Performers love to be in this show – even twice. The talent in the auditions was like nothing we’ve ever seen. Audiences are in for a real treat.”

“We anticipate a sell out season given the feedback we’ve had already,” says Mrs Henderson. “CATS is a classic musical featuring comedy and drama, so it appeals to a broad audience of all ages.”

Since its world premiere, Andrew Lloyd Webber's CATS has been presented in over 30 countries, translated into 15 languages and seen by more than 73 million people worldwide.

Adapted from TS Eliot’s ‘Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats’, it is brought to life by a cast of 40 and a 16 piece orchestra.

“With a superb score by Andrew Lloyd Webber, professional choreography by KJ Studio’s, stunning costumes and set…this is a magical musical like no other,” says Toni.

Tickets go on sale today, Tuesday, March 19, from 10am. The record-breaking musical runs for a limited season from Saturday, June 15 – Saturday, June 22.
