Emergency services are responding to the scene of a boat fire on Cross Road at Sulphur Point.

"We received a report of a fire at a business address at 12.23pm," says Fire Emergency NZ Northern Shift Manager Michael Anderson.

"Two fire trucks attended a boat fire at the business address."

Michael says the fire has now been extinguished and fire fighters are ensuring the area is safe.
